The pressure rating of PVC pipe and fittings reduces with increasing temperature. To calculate the actual pressure rating of the product at each temperature, the noted pressure rating must be multiplied by the 'de-rating multiple', as explained on our PVC category page.
The temperature derating table of this fitting is as follows:
PVC pipe has a recommended operating temperature of 0 - 60° centigrade (32 - 140°F).
This 2" plain compression repair coupler is compatible with 2" PVC pressure pipes. It is not compatible with metric PVC pressure pipes or fittings. 2" pipe actually has an outside diameter of 60.3mm.
2" pipe (measuring 60.3mm outer diameter) will slot inside the end of this compression repair coupler and be able to slide up and down the full fitting as there is no stop inside.
