The pressure rating of PVC pipe and fittings reduces with increasing temperature. To calculate the actual pressure rating of the product at each temperature, the noted pressure rating must be multiplied by the 'de-rating multiple', as explained on our PVC category page.
The temperature derating table of this fitting is as follows:
PVC pipe has a recommended operating temperature of 0 - 60° centigrade (32 - 140°F).
This 1 1/4" plain stub flange is compatible with 1 1/4" PVC pressure pipe, 1 1/4" backing rings, and 1 1/4" stub gaskets. It is not compatible with metric PVC pressure pipes or fittings. 1 1/4" pipe actually has an outside diameter of 42.2mm.
1 1/4" pipes (measuring 42.2mm outer diameter) will slot inside the socket end of this stub flange to be solvent welded. 1 1/4" backing rings will slot over the socket end to be bolted to other backing rings or full face flanges. 1 1/4" stub gaskets will fit against the flat back of this stub flange to be used with the backing rings to create a seal.
