The pressure rating of PVC pipe and fittings reduces with increasing temperature. To calculate the actual
pressure rating of the product at each temperature, the noted pressure rating must be multiplied by the
'de-rating multiple', as explained on our
PVC category page.

PVC pipe has a recommended operating temperature of 0 - 60° centigrade (32 - 140°F).
This 50mm x 1 1/2" plain to threaded FBSP stainless steel composite union is compatible with 50mm PVC pressure pipe and spigot fittings, and
1 1/2" BSP male threaded fittings. The solvent weld end is not compatible with inch PVC pressure pipe or spigot
fittings. The BSP female threaded end is compatible with BSP male threads on both inch and metric fittings. 1 1/2" pipe
actually has an outside diameter of 48.3mm.
50mm pipes or spigot fittings (measuring 50mm outer diameter) will slot inside the plain end of this
union to be solvent welded. 1 1/2" male BSP threaded fittings will thread into the female threaded
end of this stainless steel composite union.
