PVC reducing sockets are used for increasing or reducing the pipe size.
They tend to be used in applications such as connecting the pipe to pumps and other plant where the connection size is different to the pipe size. They are also used in applications, in place of sockets and reducing bushes, as they are a one piece fitting and so take less time to install. The friction loss in a PVC reducing socket is slightly less than a combined socket and reducing bush. The PVC reducing sockets have a pressure rating of greater than 10bar and are fully WRAS approved for use with drinking water.
