Thread Measurements
The inch label for threads in imperial and metric fittings do not match the inches on a ruler.
The measurements of this thread are:
Major - OD = 26.4mm
Minor - ID = 24.1mm
Material: PVC
Manufacturing standards: WRAS, BS-EN1452-3, BS4346-1, BS21, ISO727, ISO7-1, DIN-2999, ISO9001, ISO14001
Jointing process: Solvent cement socket end x BSP thread (with use of thread sealant such as PTFE tape). For more information, refer to solvent welding article.
Maximum working pressure: 10bar
Manufacturer: ERA*
Operating temperature: 0-60°C
*(We usually have plenty of these in stock; however, if we have a sudden large demand and run short, an alternative manufacturer's part, with the same specifications and as close to the same dimensions stated above, may be supplied in its place)
The pressure rating of PVC pipe and fittings reduces with increasing temperature. To calculate the actual pressure rating of the product at each temperature, the noted pressure rating must be multiplied by the 'de-rating multiple', as explained on our PVC category page.
The temperature derating table of this fitting is as follows:
PVC pipe has a recommended operating temperature of 0 - 60° centigrade (32 - 140°F).
This 25mm x 3/4" plain to threaded FBSP union is compatible with 25mm PVC pressure pipe and spigot fittings, and 3/4" BSP male threaded fittings. The solvent weld end is not compatible with inch PVC pressure pipe or spigot fittings. The BSP female threaded end is compatible with BSP male threads on both inch and metric fittings. 3/4" pipe actually has an outside diameter of 26.7mm.
25mm pipes or spigot fittings (measuring 25mm outer diameter) will slot inside the plain end of this union to be solvent welded. 3/4" male BSP threaded fittings will thread into the female threaded end of this union.
PVC (or PVCU) is one of the most widely used plastics in general industry. Its ease of installation, rigidity, WRAS approval, and low price point compared to many other plastics makes it ideal for applications such as:
In addition, PVC pipe also finds its way into many domestic applications, including:
