The pressure rating of PVC pipe and fittings reduces with increasing temperature. To calculate the actual pressure rating of the product at each temperature, the noted pressure rating must be multiplied by the 'de-rating multiple', as explained on our PVC category page.

PVC pipe has a recommended operating temperature of 0 - 60° centigrade (32 - 140°F).

This 2" x 1" plain reducing socket is compatible with 2" PVC pressure pipe and spigot fittings, and 1" PVC pressure pipe and spigot fittings. It is not compatible with metric PVC pressure pipes or fittings. 2" pipe actually has an outside diameter of 60.3mm and 1" pipe actually has an outside diameter of 33.4mm.

2" pipe or spigot fittings (measuring 60.3mm outer diameter) will slot inside the 2" end of this reducing socket. 1" pipe or spigot fittings (measuring 33.4mm outer diameter) will slot inside the 1" end of this reducing socket.
